A Mercury slip ring is a kind of conductive slip ring, also known as the rotary connector, or mercury rotary joint. The mercury slip ring is different from the traditional carbon brush slip ring. It mainly uses liquid metal mercury as the conductive medium and integrates the fixed end and the rotating end. When the work rotates, the mercury is directly used for conductive transmission, and no cables are needed. The connection is conductive.

The disc type conductive slip ring is called the disc type conductive slip ring because its shape is like a disc. Most of the pancake slip rings are installed through the shaft. The disc type conductive slip rings are generally used in the use environment where the installation is highly limited. The outer diameter of the disc type conductive slip ring will increase with the increase of the number of current paths.

It is easy for customers to confuse the disc slip ring and PCB slip ring. They are very similar in shape and almost the same in function. They are both suitable for the limited height space and the expanded horizontal space to meet the special space series requirements. However, their material, size, installation environment and service life are different.
